RECEPTION

We’re finally married! Now that all the traditions and ceremonies are completed, it’s time to party! Join us for the Reception as we celebrate and make sure to bring your dance moves.

Attire: Same as Cocktail Hour (Black Tie/Black Tie-Optional/Please avoid wearing white/beige outfits for the reception)

Description of Event: This is the quintessential wedding Reception. Entrances, first dance, speeches, maybe some fun married couple games, dinner, and last but not least: dancing! We want you to bring the energy, bring the dance moves, and help us celebrate our wedding weekend before the final sendoff!

COCKTAIL HOUR

COCKTAIL HOUR

Join us for hors d'oeuvres and mingle with your fellow guests as everyone arrives dressed to the nines for the grand celebration and finale to our big weekend!

Attire: Black Tie Pakistani/Western attire. Evening gowns, cocktail attire, saris/lehengas for ladies and tuxedo/dark suits and tie for the gentlemen. We are requesting that guests not wear white/beige outfits to the reception.

Description of Event: We will have delicious hors d'oeuvres for everyone to enjoy, a photo wall for those Instagram pics, and some music to get everyone ready for the night.

NIKKAH & KHOBA KHOBI

NIKKAH & KHOBA KHOBI

The Nikkah is our big moment! This is when the couple signs the marriage contract and are officially wed under the Islamic law. After the Nikkah ceremony, we will have the Khoba Khobi.

Attire: We ask that guests dress in modest, formal Pakistani/Western attire in neutral/light tones. For Pakistani/Indian outfit examples, please see here, and here. Examples for Western outfits can be found here.

For guys, please wear suits or blazer combinations. Tie optional.

Description of Event: Nikkah is the religious ceremony required by Islamic law to unite a Muslim man and woman in holy matrimony. The Nikkah ceremony is designed to bring the new relationship before Allah. The Khoba Khobi is a fun ceremony where the bride and groom participate in games as they enter into their married life together.

SANGEET & DINNER

Once everyone has gotten their fill of delicious Desi food, mehndi has been applied, and the Pithi ceremony is over, we want you to bring the energy and get hyped for the performances and dance floor!

Attire: This is a continuation of the Pithi/Mehndi, no change of outfit is needed.

Description of Event: Once dinner is complete, get your cameras ready, it’s time for the performances! The Sangeet is traditionally where the bride and groom’s family and friends will put on performances before the dance floor opens up for everyone to join in on the fun.

PITHI & MEHNDI

Please join us as we kick off the festivities with the Pithi Ceremony.

Attire: We request guests wear vibrant/colorful traditional Pakistani/Indian attire to embody the essence of the event. If you are unable to do so, please wear something vibrant/colorful to match the energy!

Description of Event: Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Everyone will have an opportunity to get a Mehndi design while the Pithi ceremony takes place.
